中国科大-华盛顿大学MBA双学位项目

Background:

The University of Washington (UW) is a public research university in Seattle, Washington. The Michael G. Foster School of Business is the business school at UW. It was founded in 1917 and is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

 

Program Outline:

The Foster School of Business at UW and the School of Management at USTC will jointly offer a Dual Degree Program, which will allow qualified students admitted to the Master of Business Administration(MBA) at USTC to concurrently pursue a second Global Master of Business Administration (GMBA) at UW. Upon successful completion of this program, a student will receive two MBAs, one from USTC, and one from UW.

 

Admission Details:

Students who are interested in this Dual Degree Program should connect with UW admissions staff to understand UW requirements so that they may submit a well rounded and compelling application. In all cases, applicants are subject to UW admission requirements, including the following minimum requirements:

1.      GMAT: Minimum score of 750

2.      English Proficiency:

a.      Minimum score of 100 (iBT)

b.     250 (CBT)

c.      600 (PBT)

d.     Pearson Test of English(Academic) 65 for non-native English speakers.

3.      Post-undergraduate professional experience is not required but highly preferred for admission to the program

 

Dual Degree Requirements:

To be eligible for conferral of each degree, students must meet the following degree requirements at each respective school:

For USTC-MBA Degree:

1.      Study at USTC for at least one academic year (2 semesters)

2.      Successful completion of all USTC-MBA core courses

3.      Successful completion of aminimum of 26 credits at USTC to include a minimum of 20 course credits and six thesis credits

4.      Successful completion of oral thesis defence

For UW-GMBA Degree:

1.      Study at UW for at least one academic year (3 quarters)

2.      Successful completion of all first-year USTC-MBA core courses at USTC

3.      Successful completion of UW's GMBA requirements (UW coursework plus recognised USTC coursework)

4.      Successful completion of 48 credits of MBA courses at UW, including any remaining requirements of the GMBA core and elective courses

 

Application and Admission Timeline:

November to January

Understand Foster's GMBA program application requirements and begin submitting application components

15th January

Ensure application is complete and all application  materials are finalised

February to March

Complete video interview and/or admission interview (phone or Skype) as specified by admissions staff

30th March

Receive admissions results notice from admissions staff

May to June

Submit official response to enrolment offer and  provide program tuition deposit

September

Begin program of study

 

Program Sequence:

The Dual Degree Program will consist of atleast one academic year (2 semesters) of full-time study or its equivalent at USTC followed by nine months of full-time study at UW. Students enrolled in this Dual Degree Program are expected to commence the UW portion of the Dual Degree in the autumn quarter.

Depending on the student's academic preparation and interest, the student may be required to complete an internship or enrol in a study course during the summer quarter prior to commencing their studies at UW. These options include 1) an internship arranged through USTC, or 2) an English language study at UW.

Study at UW's Foster School of Business in year 2 will consist generally of enrolment in elective courses, though in all cases dual degree GMBA candidates must meet the equivalent of UW degree requirements.
