Background:

The Geneva Finance Research Institute (GFRI)the University of Geneva's school of finance. The University of Geneva is apublic research university located in Geneva, Switzerland. This collaboration between USTC and GFRI is a three year master's degree exchange program.

Program Outline:

This will be a "1+1+1" program in which students from USTC can study for one year in the Master of Science program in Finance at the University of Geneva and obtain a master degree of advanced studies in Finance. There will be three stages to this 1+1+1 program:

1.      Master degree students at the School of Management at USTC study during their 1st year at USTC

2.      In the 2nd  year, those students who meet all eligibility criteria of GFRI can enroll in the Master of Advanced Studies in Finance (MAS) at the University of Geneva.

3.      After completion of their study at GFRI,  the students go back to USTC in their 3rd year to complete their dissertation and defense, in order to obtain their (second) Master degree of Finance at USTC.

Am I qualified?

For USTC students who want to study at GFRI in their second year, a solid grasp of the English language is required:

1.       You must have a minimum IELTS score of 6.5, and/or

2.       You must have a minimum TOEFL score of 95, and/or

3.       You must pass an interview with the GFRI Program Manager.

This means that during their first year, students who are interested incoming to GFRI will need to obtain their English language certificate. Exceptions apply for native English speakers or applicants having followed their undergraduate studies in English or having lived in an English-speaking country for several years.

For admission to the MAS program, the admission policy at the University of Geneva applies; including a motivation essay and a successful interview with the MAS Program Manager.

Tuition and Fees:

Students who participate this 1+1+1 program will be charged the regular tuition fees by both institutions respectively.

Aside from tuition fees, the students must foot everything else: transportation, class materials, room, board, etc.
